What is our RISE Program? What does RISE stand for?
RISE stands for Respect, Integrity, Strength & Excellence. Learning each of these traits, on and off the court, will help develop/mold the character for our kids for their lifetime. Life lessons, like learning how to win with class & lose with dignity, how to play unselfishly and for something bigger than yourself and learning to give 100% all the time, are what we aim to teach over the season.
Our RISE program is for those girls 12-18 looking to play at the highest level. This club does require try-outs and traveling. Each team will practice 2 or 3 times per week. Teams will compete in the Carolina Region. Tournaments will be on the weekend where players will be required to travel outside of Charlotte. The season will start in January and run through April.

Carolina RISE is looking to have one team in each of the following age group for the 2008-2009 Season:
(1) 14 year old team
(1) 15 year old team
(1) 16 year old team
Teams may vary depending on the numbers of girls at tryouts. Tryouts are mandatory. All players will need to register on-line before tryouts so we know how many players to expect and make sure all players are trying out at the proper age group. Age groups are determined by the following dates:

18 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1990 or Players who were born on or after September 1, 1989 and a high school student during some part of the current academic year.
17 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1991.
16 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1992.
15 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1993.
14 and Under Divsion: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1994.
13 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1995.
12 and Under Division: Players who were born on or after September 1, 1996.
All teams will be guaranteed into 4 Carolina Regional Tournaments, and a total of 6 tournaments throughout the season. Teams will also be able to compete in the other tournaments determined by the coaches. If teams wish to compete in additional tournaments, the extra cost will then be determined and spilt among the players. The fee for the regional tournament will go towards the cost of the tournament of choice. The final schedule will be set before practices start January 4th.
Cost: The base cost is $975. The cost covers uniforms, a practice t-shirt, coaches' expenses and salaries for all tournaments and practices, practice time, equipment and overhead expenses. This also includes the gym upkeep, access to open gyms during the season at no additional cost, and referee clinic. The 6 total tournaments is also included in the cost.
$325 will be do by once you child accepts the position on the team. $325 will be do on December 1st and the additonal cost will be due by January 10th.
Each player will also have to become a member of the USAV. Players will have to be registered before they can participate in practices. The cost of joining the region is $35 before November 1st or $45 after November 1st.
