Volleyball Concord

Carolina Courts Recreational Volleyball allows athletes at all stages of their volleyball journey to be introduced to the skills and strategy necessary to being a strong asset to any team. Recreational Volleyball doesn't stop there, the more advanced programs allow these fundamentals to be stretched to an overall understanding of the game on a competitive level. The skills taught within the Recreational Level are presented to each athlete in a way that ensures success before advancing to the next step with volleyball at Carolina Courts.

Volleyball Camps, Clinics and Training are structured so that every athlete, regardless of skill level, are given the opportunity to hone in their skills so that they can increase their "overall threat" on the court. With more one on one attention, each athlete will receive more individualized instruction that will allow them to reach their full potential.

Each instructor has a resume that includes either high school coaching experience, college coaching experience, professional playing experience, college playing experience, or a combination. Below are our top instructors at each location. Each instructor offers one-on-one lessons for those athletes looking to improve a specific skill or increase playing experience.

Deb Balducci-Executive Volleyball Director

Deb Balducci

Deb Balducci was a Former Division 1 Scholarship Athlete who played Collegiate Volleyball and graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a degree in Education. Deb majored in Physical Education and minored in Coaching. She taught Middle School Physical Education for over 12 years and coached Varsity Boys and Girls High School Volleyball in Florida. Currently she is the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Parkwood High School.  Over the past 8 years at Carolina Courts, she has worked with all ages in our In House Leagues and all levels of Travel Club Volleyball.  She has grown our program to something to be proud of and continues to grow volleyball in Charlotte by expanding the program to three locations.  Debbie and her coaches also offers one on one personal training for any athlete that would like to take their game to the next level. Carolina Courts offers high level technical coaching, a phenomenal and friendly staff, a beautiful clean and safe facility.  She continually strives to grow our programs which include: Bronze, Silver, Gold programs, Boys Volleyball, and  Sand Outdoor Volleyball leagues.  

Jessica Clarke-Lead Concord Coach

High School Experience:  Jessica played as an outside hitter for JV volleyball as a freshman and varsity volleyball sophomore year through senior year.  She received MVP and All-Conference during both her junior and senior year.

College Experience:  She went to Meredith College in Raleigh to play volleyball, where she traded in her outside hitter position for the right side during her freshman year.  Sophomore year, she went back to being an outside hitter.

Coaching Experience.  Jessica started coaching when she was 17 for a 15's National team in Raleigh, NC called United Volleyball Club.  She was with this club for three consecutive years.  She then returned home to coach for a local high school team, West Stanly High School, which we led them to their first tournament championship and conference championship.  She then jumped over to coach at a rival high school, South Stanly, which she coached them to their first tournament championship.  She coached at South Stanly for 2 years before merging to Carolina Courts in 2015.  She spent her first year as a Head Coach for in-house teams and an Assistant Coach for the 16's National Team for Peak Volleyball.  She is now Lead Coach in the Concord location and Head Coach for CUVC 16s Regional Team.

Brittany Blackburn

High School Experience:Played Varsity Volleyball at Central Academy of Technology and Arts

Collegiate Experience: Played defensive specialist position for Pfeiffer University

Brittany has been with Carolina Courts Coaching staff for 5 years.  She has coached all our In house programs and assisted on a 14, and 16 Semi National Club Team.  Brittany is the Lead Coach for our Concord Summer Camps for and also runs our Sand Volleyball Program.  

Brenda Meadows

Brenda Meadows has been involved in the sport of volleyball for over 30 years. She is a USA Volleyball IMPACT Certified Coach and brings experience from several facets of the game -- as a player, coach, administrator, recruiter liaison, player-parent, and spectator. She co-founded a local AAU travel/club team, recruited players, assisted in tryout evaluations and player selections. In addition, she coordinated collegiate training for club players and communicated with college coaches for player recruitment. She served as Interim Head Coach for the 17U team leading the team to their season best performance in the Open Division at Capitol Hill Classic National tournament. Prior to her Club experience, she coached at Weddington Middle School, finishing 3rd in the Conference and also coached in a recreational league developing players' skills and passion for the game. 

Anteesha Smoots

Collegiate Experience:  Senior at Johnson C Smith University studying Sport management. Started playing volleyball in the 7th grade in my hometown of San Antonio, Texas . From then, played  all throughout high school and was blessed to be able to play at collegiate level for all my four years here in Charlotte at Johnson C Smith University.

Coaching Experience:  I have numerous years of coaching experience from being able to work with teams back in Texas as well as coaching and training young players here in Charlotte. I am very glad to be apart of the Carolina Courts family .

John Blas

John Blas

Post Collegiate Experience: Played for the United States Air Force European Division while stationed in Germany

Coaching Experience: Coached in Florida, after being transferred with the Air Force, for numerous men’s and co-ed leagues on the base, the YMCA, Miami-Dade Community College and on the beach; Coached 13U, 14U, 15U National and 16U PEAK club teams at Carolina Courts; Coached at Covenant Classic Middle School

Awards: John’s club teams earned a total of 6 regional tournament medals for silver and gold finishes, including 2nd place at Regional Championships in 2012.

John was born and raised on the island of Guam, where he started playing volleyball in junior high school. Currently, John continues to play, and takes great pleasure and pride in instilling young players with the basic skills they need to progress through the sport.

Hailey Vinson

High School Experience:

Varsity volleyball

Blythewood HS grades 9-11th grade.

Westwood HS-Grade 12

 3 years travel elite volleyball at SC Midlands Volleyball Club 

Coaching Experience: Silver League at Carolina Courts 

Tamara Wilmoth

High School Experience: Tamara played Varsity Volleyball, Basketball and Softball all four years in high school and was recognized as all conference each year in Volleyball, Softball, and for her junior and senior year in Basketball. She also played for the Carolina Junior Volleyball her Junior and Senior year of High School.

College Experience: Tamara played volleyball all 4 years and Softball her sophomore and junior years at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. There she earned MVP her freshman and senior years in Volleyball and coach’s award sophomore and junior year in Volleyball and Softball. All four years Tamara was named to the all tournament team in Volleyball. She graduated Meredith College in 2001 with a B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science with a math minor.

Coaching Experience: Tamara has been coaching various levels of volleyball over the last 17 years. She was the JV volleyball coach in 2001 and Varsity Volleyball in 2002-2004 as well as the Varsity Softball Coach 2003 - 2006 for Northwest Cabarrus High School. Her varsity teams made it to state playoffs every year. Tamara was the Varsity, JV and middle school coach for Covenant Classical School 2011-2014 where her teams won the conference and conference tournament every year. During the 2015-2017 seasons, Tamara has worked with a homeschool organization Cabarrus Christian Outreach developing a volleyball program. This is her first year with CUVC and she is very excited to work with the youth in this program. Her passion for teaching volleyball and life skills has driven her desire to continue coaching. She strives to see youth excel in both volleyball and life while building strong character. 

Cameron Pryor

High School Experience: Played for North Henderson High school, graduated in 2014. Awards received during High School Career include, WNC-AC player of the year for my junior ('12) and senior year ('13), Times News Player of the Year for my junior ('12)  and senior year ('13), Western North Carolina Player of the year my senior year (13), North Henderson team won NCHSAA Highest Volleyball Team G.P.A. in N.C 2013. 

For basketball, Cameron was All- Conference each year, and Times News Player of the Year Junior and Senior year. Currently holds two basketball records at North Henderson. As a team, North Henderson won the NCHSAA Highest Basketball Team G.P.A in N.C 2014. 

College Experience: Played 2 years at UNC- Asheville. Freshman year, received tournament MVP, and the team won All Tournament Team.Sophomore year, received tournament MVP, Big South Defensive Player of the Week, based off of my blocks and kills during that weeks games. 

Currently, Cameron attends UNC-Charlotte pursuing a degree in business.

Coaching Experience: Coached previously at XCEL, now is excited to bring prior experience to benefit PEAK athletes both on and off the court. 

Samantha Strayer

High School Experience: I played junior varsity as a freshman, varsity as a sophomore and junior. 
Coaching Experience: My senior year I decided to follow an amazing coach to a different school and begin to learn the ropes of coaching. Began coaching with Carolina Courts in August 2018.


Playing Experience:  Professional Volleyball Player| Graduated from and played 4 years of volleyball at Liberty University in VA with a degree in Digital Media /  From Macungie, PA 


Coaching Experience:  TJ has coached many levels, and is currently a Travel Club Coach for our 16U team.  TJ is also going to be spearheading our Boys Volleyball Program.
